Hi, I'm a bit confused about Caster's behavior in the CrossCheck TDM. Why would she purposefully (or not purposefully, I don't quite get her motives) use her Charm magic as a Queen when it's been stated in canon that she holds back on her canon charm magic because of what happened to her in the past? It feels a little badly thought out to me.
HELLO I can understand what you mean by that! My reasoning is that I'm playing Tamamo from the end of her canon (or at least one of the endings), where she'd go through a lot of character development thanks to Hakuno too. And this is where I start to extrapolate a little: while she never uses it in /extra, in /grandorder she has abilities by that name which can be actively used. They aren't exactly charm spells or anything, actually, but rather, Witchcraft EX is a spell to gain an edge or garner fortune (in the case of Mizukume, to get close to the Emperor, and in /grandorder, to diminish the opponent's NP). Even if they might not be in the same universe, Tamamo isn't completely adverse to using it, and probably won't be too much after going through /extra.
With Hakuno getting erased and everything, the tdm was supposed to show Tamamo after a very important part of her (after)life ended. My intention was that she cast Charm magic not on the cake purposely, per say, but because Charm magic is actually a passive ability that goes through her, the act of giving cake and those who receive it will be influenced by the passive charm spell that lie underneath the act. And Tamamo, unused to new powers, would realize what's happening but then decide to stay and try to see how far she can go because 1. she's lonely, even though she knows this isn't unconditional love 2. she wants to get further understanding of her own powers through experience instead of books. But as soon as the charm spell kinda crossed over into worship and hit too close to home she would run for it.
So that's what I wanted to show. I hope that's okay!
